Brian Lofthouse

Lead Pastor

Growing up in a community of faith a part of my life stirred within me a passion to do my part in reaching people for and discipling them to be dynamic followers of Jesus Christ.
A call from God on my life at the age of 18. Graduating from Emmanual Bible College with a Bachelor of Theology in Pastoral Ministries (1985). ...and then entering into the Pastoral Ministry in 1985 first as a youth pastor and then in 1989 becoming Lead Pastor at the Port Colborne Brethren in Christ Church.
I am happily married to Liz (35+ years). Blessed with three wonderful children all married: Laura (Tim), Katie (Josh), Jesse (Jennifer) and grandparents to Landon, Elsie, Harrison and Marcus all under 30 months old and a special friend named Sophy (a golden retriever). I have the great privilege of participating in the greater community as the Port Colborne Fire and Emergency Services Chaplain.
My wife Liz and I enjoy playing volleyball in an adult league here in the city and doing gardening in our backyard. God has been so gracious to me and my family.
We would love to have you stop by for a visit and enjoy the warmth and love within the community of faith here at Port BIC.

Growing up in a Christian home and having a family that was very involved with church, I really saw the benefits of being a part of a church family. I volunteered for Vacation Bible School and various children's programs throughout my teen years, while also being a part of an amazing youth group - where I met my husband.
I received my Child and Youth Worker diploma at Mohawk College in Hamilton, where I went on to work in school and group home settings assisting children and teens with various developmental and behavioural difficulties to live as normal of lives as possible. I have always had a desire to see my education and experiences put to practice to further God's kingdom, and look forward to what God will do through me at Port BIC.
I have attended Port BIC since 2007 when my husband and I, along with 2 small children re-located to the area. Since then, our family has grown. Brielle (2004), Kolton (2006) and Lukas (2008) give me little time to have my own hobbies, but I do enjoy scrapbooking, walking, reading, and just spending time with family and close friends.
